Dr. Allyson Patterson

Dr. Allyson Patterson is originally from North Carolina, where she grew up riding horses and raising beef cattle. She received a Bachelor’s in Animal Science from NC State University in 2017 and stayed at NCSU for veterinary school, graduating with a DVM in 2022. Allyson then went on to complete a Food Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at the University of Missouri. Her professional interests include dairy medicine, herd health, and client education.

Dr. Allyson has taken her passion for livestock health to a global level, as she has worked on a goat farm in Haiti during kidding season and in Kenya educating processing plant employees about zoonotic disease. Dr. Allyson is a supporter of the One Health initiative and the role veterinary medicine plays in ensuring not only the health of animals but also people and our planet. She is excited to work with our clients to ensure the health of their livestock and horses while facilitating the judicious use of resources and preservation of our environment.

During her time as a student, Dr. Allyson’s excellence in livestock medicine was recognized at the highest level. She was the recipient of the W. Bruce Wren Food Animal Incentive Award in February of 2023, the BI Bovine Health Award in Preventative Medicine in April of 2022, the AABP Foundation-Zoetis Scholarship in May of 2021, the AABP Amstutz Scholarship in May of 2020, and the AABP Bovine Veterinary Student Recognition Award in May of 2020.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Allyson enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, cooking, live music, and stand-up comedy. She’s excited to join the team at Tri-State Vet and explore all that Connecticut has to offer!
